Peacock Pearls
That sounds like a contradiction of pearl appearance, but pearls do come in many colors. Peacock pearls are greenish black Tahitian pearls. It is one of the most popular colors followed by pistachio, a greenish gray variety.
Tahitian pearls are produced by the black-lipped oyster in the waters of the South Pacific. They are highly valued for their size, color and incredible luster. Tahitian black pearls are certainly the most talked about, but fashion colors are increasingly popular.
A strand of peacock pearls makes a beautiful statement, something a bit out of the ordinary. On their own or in combination with other colors of pearls or gemstones, peacock pearls make spectacular necklaces, rings, bracelets, or earrings.
Like all Tahitian pearls, peacock pearls are large and have an incredible luster. They are cool to the touch and heavy. Imitation pearls are much lighter in weight, and have the same temperature as the environment. The French Polynesian government closely regulates the exportation of Tahitian pearls to assure the quality is excellent.
If you'd like something to stand out in your jewelry wardrobe, consider some pearls in a fashion color. A peacock pearl piece will stand out and last for many years. Pearls never really go out of style.
